Daniels named by BusinessWeek as one of the top 75 undergraduate business schools in the nation

Top Colorado business school in the 2008 rankings of Best Undergraduate Programs

DENVER, Colo., February 28, 2008 The University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business was cited for having one of the top 75 undergraduate business programs in the country.  According to BusinessWeek’s 2008 rankings of undergraduate business programs, Daniels was ranked No. 67 nationally and was the top Colorado school on the list.  Colorado State University was ranked 73 and Leeds School of Business at CU-Boulder came in at 83.

“There are nearly 2,500 undergraduates majoring in business at DU,” said Daniels Dean Bruce Hutton. “And those numbers are growing. These young professionals realize that a liberal arts education combined with business acumen is a potent combination. We recognize that our undergraduates are extremely valuable Daniels and DU stakeholders, constantly challenging us to innovate our business curriculum to reflect a greater world view that can help them be successful professionals and citizens.”

For BusinessWeek’s report, “The Best Undergraduate Business Programs,” there were five sources for the undergraduate ranking: a student survey, a recruiter survey, median starting salaries for graduates, the number of graduates admitted to 35 top MBA programs, and an academic quality measure that consists of SAT/ACT test scores for business majors, full-time faculty-student ratios in the business program, average class size in core business classes, the percentage of business majors with internships, and the number of hours students spend preparing for class each week.  The Daniels College of Business has been also honored as one of the top business schools in the world by the Wall Street Journal, the “Beyond Grey Pinstripes” ranking from the Aspen Institute, and BusinessWeek’s “Best Part-Time MBA Programs.”

The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver is nationally recognized as one of the top seven schools in the world for producing graduates with high ethical standards (The Wall Street Journal). As the eighth oldest collegiate school of business in the country, Daniels has built a curriculum of substance designed to match the needs of students who require both breadth and depth in their business education. Headquartered in one of the nation’s leading business education facilities, the Daniels College of Business is located on the 125-acre University of Denver campus.
