#1 is outstanding. #6 is even better: BusinessWeek names Daniels in the top ten business schools in the nation
No. 6 Nationally – No. 1 Regionally in the 2007 rankings of Best Part-Time MBA Programs
DENVER, Colo., November 1, 2007 – The University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business once again was named one of the top graduate business schools. According to BusinessWeek’s 2007 rankings of part-time MBA programs, Daniels was ranked No. 6 nationally and No. 1 regionally. Daniels, the sole Colorado school named to the list, was ranked ahead nationally of schools that included the University of Chicago, Boston College, SMU, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, and the University of Texas-Austin.
“At Daniels, we have long attracted faculty with as much experience in the business world as in the academic world,” said Daniels Dean Bruce Hutton. “No one understands the value of this more than the working professional enrolled in our part-time MBA program. It shows that our steadfast focus on ethics, sustainability and corporate social responsibility never comes at the expense of excellence in traditional business disciplines. Likewise, our graduates demonstrate that they can make a big difference in the world while making a bigger income – of the top ten schools nationally, we scored No. 4 for students reporting a salary increase because of our program.”
This is the first year for BusinessWeek’s report, “The Best Part-Time MBA Programs,” which was based on three measures that included a student survey, sent to 9,274 part-time MBA students at 81 programs, measuring student satisfaction; an academic quality score that included average work experience, average class size, the number of business electives available to part-time MBA students, among others; and a third measure of post-MBA outcomes, based on the percentage of survey respondents who say their program was "completely" responsible for them achieving their goals. The Daniels College of Business has been also honored as one of the top business schools in the world by the Wall Street Journal and the “Beyond Grey Pinstripes” ranking from the Aspen Institute.
The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver is nationally recognized as one of the top seven schools in the world for producing graduates with high ethical standards (The Wall Street Journal). As the eighth oldest collegiate school of business in the country, Daniels has built a curriculum of substance designed to match the needs of students who require both breadth and depth in their business education. Headquartered in one of the nation’s leading business education facilities, the Daniels College of Business is located on the 125-acre University of Denver campus.
