THE AWARDEach year, the Morton Margolin award will be given to a journalist whose article was published in a Colorado newspaper or magazine. A $1,000 cash prize and plaque will be awarded. Judges will be members of the faculty of the Daniels College of Business and the School of Communication at the University of Denver.
CRITERIA
The Morton Margolin Prize seeks to identify and reward outstanding reporting about Colorado business and the Colorado economy. The work should exemplify thoroughness, imagination, clarity of thought and the ability to make the subject interesting and understandable to the general public. The award recognizes noteworthy reporting that is timely, accurate, skillfully researched and written in such a way to bring new insight and understanding to the general public. The degree to which an article reflects high standards, competency and integrity will be considered, as will the manner in which the entry illuminates the topic's significance or opens up new concerns and provides greater understanding of it. The entry should emphasize a Colorado angle and cover firms, people and/or trends in the state.

Each entry must include one original copy and five copies of the published material, clipped from the publication and mounted on 8 1/2 x 11" sheets of paper.
