
KCFR Presents examines journalism at the crossroads Jan. 31
Colorado Public Radio and DU’s Daniels College of Business convene panel of
national experts with moderator Dan Drayer
DENVER— A panel of national authorities discusses the intersection of ethics and business in the rapidly evolving world of media with host Dan Drayer on KCFR Presents Thursday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Recorded before a studio audience, the discussion is the first in a series of events produced by Colorado Public Radio in partnership with the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
Panelists are Bob Steele, of the Poynter Institute; Lucy Dalglish, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press; Amy Garmer, director of journalism projects at the Aspen Institute; and Roger Ogden, former president/CEO of Gannett Broadcasting.
In the course of their discussion with Drayer, the panel considers the rise of “citizen journalism,” the future of print and online news, and the effect of the 24-hour news cycle and multiplicity of news sources on Thomas Jefferson's ideal of an informed populace.
